We install wet rooms, walk-in showers and accessible bathrooms across Liverpool and Merseyside, covering homes in the Liverpool City Council, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Halton (Widnes) and Wirral council areas. Find your area below, or call 07777 659786 if your town is not listed.
Why we group areas by council
For most of the work we do, the building side is the same wherever you live. What changes is the council. If a wet room is needed because of a disability, a Disabled Facilities Grant is applied for through your own local council, and each council runs its own process, occupational therapy service and waiting times. Knowing which council covers your home is a useful first step, so we have grouped our area pages that way. Our DFG wet rooms page explains the grant in more detail.
Liverpool City Council
Across south and east Liverpool we see a mix of inter-war semis with small first-floor bathrooms, larger older houses and bungalows. Upstairs wet rooms on timber floors are common here. We cover Allerton, Woolton, Childwall, Aigburth, Mossley Hill, West Derby and Wavertree.
Sefton
Sefton runs from Bootle up the coast to Southport. Bungalows are common in places like Formby and Maghull, which often makes a downstairs wet room the natural choice. We cover Crosby, Formby, Maghull and Southport.
Knowsley
To the east of the city, Knowsley Council covers towns including Huyton, Prescot and Kirkby, where bath-to-shower conversions in family homes are a frequent request.
St Helens
We fit wet rooms and walk-in showers in St Helens and the surrounding villages. Grant applications here go through St Helens Council.
Halton
Across the Mersey from Liverpool’s southern edge, we cover Widnes, which falls under Halton Borough Council.
Wirral
On the Wirral we cover Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall and Bebington. Heswall in particular has many bungalows, while Birkenhead and Wallasey have plenty of terraced houses with bathrooms in the rear extension.
Not on the list?
These pages cover the places we are asked about most, but they are not the limit. We can often help in nearby places such as Halewood, Rainhill, Hoylake, West Kirby and Aintree, and in other parts of Merseyside. Call us or send a message with your town and a little about the room, and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
What a home visit involves
Wherever you live, the visit is the same. We talk with the person who will use the room, and anyone who helps them, about what is difficult now. We measure the bathroom, check whether the floor is timber or concrete, look at where the waste pipe runs and see how the doorway and landing work for access. If there is an occupational therapist’s report, we go through it with you. Afterwards we send a written quote and plan.
If you are arranging the work for a parent or relative who lives in a different part of Merseyside from you, that is fine. We are happy to deal with sons, daughters and carers. We can speak to you on the phone first and then arrange the visit at a time when you can both be there, so the person who will use the room has a say in the layout, rail positions and seat height.
